Background: There was no literature showed superior provenance or clone of B. alnoides selected for the development southern Fujian, as well suitable reforestation mixed pattern developed preventing trunk pests effectively. It is significant to select an optimal be expanded in Fujian. Methods: The tissue-cultured seedlings Betula were introduced south-east China tests. admixed with Castanopsis hystrix five patterns at Wanshiqing Area and Cunninghamia lanceolata four Beijing Area. A sample plot 20 m × 30 set each experimental treatment tree investigated plot, including height (m), DBH (cm), diseases freeze injury. Result: effects pure forest better than that cluster height. not beneficial growth C. early stage. average annual height, individual volume achieved 2.2-2.5 m, 2.8-3.0 cm 0.0061-0.0074 m3, respectively.

Nonlinear Mixed-Effects (NLME) Diameter Growth Models for Individual China-Fir (Cunninghamia lanceolata) Trees in Southeast China
An individual-tree diameter growth model was developed for Cunninghamia lanceolata in Fujian province, southeast China. Data were obtained from 72 plantation-grown China-fir trees in 24 single-species plots. Ordinary non-linear least squares regression was used to choose the best base model from among 5 theoretical growth equations; selection criteria were the smallest absolute mean residual an...
متن کاملNew lignans from the heartwood of Cunninghamia lanceolata.
Two new lignans, including the aryltetralin-type lignan, lanceoline (1), and the diaryl butyrolactone-type lignan, 5-methoxytrachelogenin (2), together with 5-methoxywikstromol (3), were isolated from the low-polar layer of a heartwood extract of Cunninghamia lanceolata as their acetylated derivatives 1a, 2a and 3a, respectively, and were identified by spectroscopic analyses. The (13)C-NMR data...
متن کاملCase-control studies of association in structured or admixed populations.
Case-control tests for association are an important tool for mapping complex-trait genes. But population structure can invalidate this approach, leading to apparent associations at markers that are unlinked to disease loci. Family-based tests of association can avoid this problem, but such studies are often more expensive and in some cases--particularly for late-onset diseases--are impractical....
متن کاملBiomass partition and carbon storage of Cunninghamia lanceolata chronosequence plantations in Dabie Mountains in East China
The quantification of biomass carbon pools is important for understanding carbon cycling in forest ecosystems. This study was designed to reveal the effects of stand age on biomass partitioning and carbon storage of Chinese fir plantation stands in Dabie Mountains of Anhui, East China. A total of six even-aged Chinese fir plantation stands along an age-sequence from 10 to 50 years were selected...
متن کاملEffect of Planting Density on Knot Attributes and Branch Occlusion of Betula alnoides under Natural Pruning in Southern China
Knot-related defects are the major cause of timber quality degradation, and diminishing this kind of defects is an important issue in forest management. For the purpose of clear-wood production, knot attributes and branch occlusion of Betula alnoides under natural pruning were investigated in a 14-year-old experimental plantation with five planting densities ranging from 500 to 3333 stems per h...
